As a former case manager and developer, I built Diversity Sync'd to solve the problems I faced every day.
Every founder has an origin story. It’s the spark that ignites the long nights and the unwavering belief that fuels the journey. For me, that spark wasn’t found in a boardroom or a tech incubator. It was found in the quiet moments of a client's home, in the hurried conversations in a hallway, and in the stacks of paperwork on my desk. My story, and the story of Diversity Sync'd, bridges two very different worlds: software development and social care.
Before I founded this company, I lived and breathed the world of community support. I started as a support worker on the frontline. The work was demanding, deeply personal, and incredibly rewarding. It was a privilege to be invited into people’s lives, to support them in achieving their goals, and to be a part of their daily journey. The human connection was, and still is, the heart of the work.
Eventually, I transitioned into a case manager role. This gave me a bird's-eye view of the system, and while my passion for helping people grew, so did my frustration. I saw dedicated, compassionate support workers stretched thin. I saw clients and their families navigating a labyrinth of services, often repeating their stories to different people. I saw a system where crucial information lived in silos—a note in one file, a report in an email, a goal in a plan, but rarely all in one accessible place.
The core problem was a fundamental disconnect. We were all working towards the same goal — better outcomes for our clients — but we were operating with fragmented information. This created inefficiencies that stole time away from what truly mattered. The time spent chasing paperwork, clarifying schedules, and manually aligning reports was time not spent with clients.
This is where my previous life came calling.
Long before I was a case manager, I was a developer. I spent my days building logical systems, designing databases, and creating seamless user experiences. I was trained to see friction points not as frustrations, but as problems to be solved with elegant code.
As a case manager, I started seeing the industry's challenges through a developer's eyes.
I saw inefficient scheduling and thought about optimisation algorithms.
I saw communication breakdowns and thought about integrated messaging platforms.
I saw scattered client data and envisioned a single, secure, source-of-truth database.
I saw the immense diversity of client needs and support worker skills and realised the matching process was often guesswork, not data-driven.
The gap was clear. The care sector had the heart and the humanity, but it lacked the synchronized, technological backbone to support its incredible work. The quality of care was being limited by the inefficiency of the administration behind it. I saw it as a simple, powerful equation:
Time for Care = Total Work Hours − Time Admin Waste
My mission became to minimise that 'Admin Waste' to almost zero.
That was the moment Diversity Sync'd was conceived. It wasn’t just about creating another piece of software. It was about building the bridge between my two worlds. It was about applying the logic and efficiency of technology to amplify the compassion and effectiveness of care.
Diversity Sync'd is my answer to the problems I lived through. It’s a platform designed to:
Unify Information: Bringing care plans, progress notes, schedules, and communication into one intuitive place.
Empower Workers: Giving support workers the information they need at their fingertips, so they can walk into every session prepared and confident.
Streamline Operations: Automating scheduling, simplifying reporting, and cutting down the administrative burden for providers and case managers.
Enhance Client Experience: Providing transparency and consistency for clients and their families, ensuring everyone is—quite literally—in sync.
I didn't start this company because I saw a market opportunity. I started it because I saw a human need. I know the dedication it takes to be a support worker and a case manager, and I believe those professionals deserve tools that work as hard as they do.
By syncing technology with the diverse needs of the care community, we can give time back to the people who need it most. We can restore the focus to the human connection that inspired us all to join this industry in the first place.
That’s why I built Diversity Sync'd. And our work is just getting started.
